40-hour Crime Prevention Training (PART II)

The Institute for Criminal Justice Studies (ICJS) in collaboration with the Harris County Sheriff's Office is offering a comprehensive 40-hour Crime Prevention Part II (Community-Based Programs) training- TCLEOSE #2102. Open on a first-come, first-serve basis. Payment or purchase order must be received prior to attending the training.
Course covers: The latest in Crime Prevention Trends, Engaging the Power of Prevention - 10-Action Principals, Bullying, Gangs, Drug Awareness, Neighborhood Watch Overview, Methods in Setting Up Your Own Community-Based Program, Volunteers in Policing Service (VIPS), Operation Identification & National Night Out, Late Life Adults & Crime Prevention, Crime Stoppers,
On-Line Predators, Faith-Based Organizations, Violence in the Workplace, Place Oriented Problem Solving, Crime Prevention in the Technology Age, Auto Theft, Prisoner Re-Entry Program, Introduction to CPTED, Teaching Kids to Design Out Crime, Identity Theft, School Safety & Security.
Participants are required to research, develop and present a community oriented public Safety briefing/presentation designed to develop Public Speaking skills and deliveries.
The course is open to all law enforcement agencies, or city or county government civilian crime prevention security practitioners. This is the first step in a four step process of receiving a Certified Crime Prevention Specialist (CCPS) designation and certification.
