December, 2009 Membership Meeting

Each December, in lieu of a formal meeting, NTCPA members are invited to a noon luncheon at an area restaurant. They are encouraged to bring a guest, such as their spouse, a co-worker or other interested person. In addition to a great meal, newly elected officers are sworn in at this time and the annual President’s Award is given to a member of NTCPA that the current President feels went above and beyond in serving the association or crime prevention community.

This year, the luncheon was held a Salerno’s Restaurant in Flower Mound. Close to 40 members and guests attended. Steve Garst (Sergeant – Little Elm Police Department) concluded his two years of service as President and was term-limited. Steven Caldwell (Officer – Flower Mound Police Department) was sworn in as the newly elected President. Mark Brazelton (Captain Gainesville Police Department), was re-elected and sworn in as 3rd Vice President – Communications. Scott Voigt (Officer - Trophy Club Police Department) was elected 1st Vice President, to fill the office vacated by Caldwell. Scott was unable to attend the luncheon and will be sworn in at the February meeting. Travis Johnston (Officer – Carrollton Police Department) was elected Secretary to fill the office vacated by Louise Runnels (Civilian – Ft. Worth), who had served for eight years as NTCPA Secretary. Travis was also unable to attend the meeting and will be sworn in at the February meeting. Louise Runnels was presented the President’s Award by outgoing President Steve Garst for her dedication to NTCPA these past eight years as Secretary.
